Best Pumpkin Patches in Raleigh NC

Fall is such a beautiful time of year to enjoy fun events outdoors. The weather is cool, the bugs are gone and the air is crisp. One of my favorite things to do during the fall, in preparation for Halloween, is go to a local pumpkin patch and have my kids pick out their favorite pumpkins! Here is a guide to the best pumpkin patches in Raleigh, NC.

Page Farms

Page Farms is a local, family owned farm that has been in operation for over 100 years. Every fall they have an amazing pumpkin patch where you get to pick your pumpkin off the vine!! They are open for pumpkin picking Wednesday through Sunday from the last week in September all the way through October. Admission includes the following:

  • 1 pumpkin per person
  • 5 acre corn maze with mulch mountain
  • Hayride to the pumpkin patch
  • Playground with slides, swings and a hay maze
  • Corn crib (large sandbox filled with corn kernels to play in)
  • Cow train
  • Farm animals (cows, chickens, ducks, goats, horse and sheep)
  • Farm store with locally handmade crafts, jams, ciders, vinaigrettes and local raw honey

Hillridge Farms

Just north of Wake Forest, in Youngsville is Hillridge Farms, which is always a family favorite during the fall (and all year!). Admission into the farm includes:

  • Covered wagon ride
  • Free pumpkin
  • Farm animal corral (goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys)
  • Fish feeding dock
  • All playland activities

Although the pumpkins at Hillridge aren’t on the vine, they have a huge variety of pumpkins to choose from. For more information, please click here.

Naylor Family Farm

Located right outside of Raleigh in Fuquay-Varina is Naylor Family Farm. They have tons to do for families and children and even have a new attraction this year, the 150 foot ride-n-slide (hop in a tube and slide down the huge slide!). They are open from mid-September through October and their admission includes:

  • One pumpkin per person
  • Hayride
  • 10 acre corn maze
  • Farm animals
  • Jump Pad
  • BELL helicopter to explore
  • Pedal karts
  • Pig pavilion (with momma and piglets)
  • Corn play barn
  • Farm tower fort (22 foot silos with slides!)
  • Barrel train
  • Gem mining (additional cost)
  • 150 foot ride-n-slide (additional cost)

Phillips Farm

Another local farm that has been operating for over 100 years and is popular in the area is Phillips Farm in Cary. Although they don’t have a pumpkin patch included with admission, they do have a market onsite with tons of pumpkins to choose from! Phillips Farm also has a large variety of activities for the family. They are open weekends from the middle of September through October. The admission includes their corn maze, Family Fun Park, Wagon Ride, Cow Train and access to their sunflower field. The Family Fun Park includes:

  • Rope maze
  • Bounce pillows
  • Mud kitchen
  • Swings
  • Vintage Horse Wagon
  • Slides
  • Rubber Duck Races
  • Pedal cart race track
  • Corn Box…and much more

Also, if you are looking for something for older children and adults this time of year, after dark the farm turns into a haunted farm! This is available Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30-11:30pm. For additional information about the farm, please click here.
